Very quick update - I made it to Warsaw, Poland safe and sound yesterday and have already had two very productive days of negotiations. I'm here until Sunday, when I fly to Tbilisi, Georgia for a week.
I am currently living in Rochester, NY and working as a program manager responsible for several accounts in Central and Eastern Europe. I get the unique opportunity to travel to places like Poland, Georgia (the country), Romania and Bulgaria. I have learned many valuable lessons dealing with different cultures both professionally and personally. My athletic background is fairly unique in that I grew up playing baseball and competing in nordic skiing and biathlon. I decided to focus on baseball in college. When I graduated and entered the real world, I found that there were few opportunities to challenge myself mentally or physically playing baseball (the beer leagues weren't doing it for me and the Yankees weren't exactly knocking my door down). So, I switched gears and have spent my time outside of work training and racing in various endurance sports, with my #1 passion being nordic skiing and biathlon. I still coach baseball and enjoy being around the game, however, I find that the challenges and level of competition that I am still exposed too in skiing, cycling, etc. offer me the escape from corporate America that I need.
